Hi, I'm Aoife O'Leary

I’m a film composer and the creator of Intro To Scoring.

I'm currently scoring my fourth film, and the 3 movies I’ve scored so far include Hulu's #1 hit
Cult Killer (starring Antonio Banderas) and the upcoming crime/action/comedy Guns Up (starring Kevin James and Christina Ricci).

However, my background is not in composing at all; it's in bands, songwriting, and performing. I didn’t attend music school, can’t read or write music, and had only been producing in a DAW for about a year when I started work on my first film!

Can you imagine now nervous I was before I started to score?!

I had been studying scoring intensely, reading ALL the books and taking all the courses I could get my hands on, taking all the masterclasses from the best composers, and working so hard on my production, but it is only through actually working as a composer that I found out what I really didn't know - and what I needed to learn fast, and on the fly.

This inspired me to create Intro to Scoring, so that I can share everything I have learned with artists, musicians and composers who want to get their started in scoring too.
